GHOST DETECTOR

Privacy policy

Ghost Detector collects nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no uploads. The app makes no network requests: the pose model, the word banks and everything else it needs are bundled inside it and run on your own device. It works identically in airplane mode.

The camera

Ghost Detector is a camera app, so it asks for camera access. The live feed is analysed frame by frame on your device by pose- and face-detection models that ship inside the app. No frame, no detection and no photograph is ever sent anywhere. Nothing is uploaded for processing, because there is nothing to upload to.

There is no face recognition. The body model returns seventeen keypoints — positions of a nose, eyes, shoulders, hips and so on. When a face fills the frame, a second model finds where the face is: a box and six points (eyes, ears, nose, mouth), so the app can draw a head on it. Neither produces a face descriptor, a biometric template or an identity, and nothing is matched against anything. The app cannot tell one person from another, and it is not trying to.

The microphone

Microphone access is requested only so that a video you record keeps its sound, and only the first time you record one. Turn off “Record sound” in Settings and no microphone is ever opened. Audio is written into your own recording on your device and goes nowhere else.

Your photo library

Ghost Detector asks for permission to add to your library, and only when you tap “Save to library”. It never asks for permission to read your library, and it cannot browse, scan or open the photos already on your phone.

Sensors

The app reads your device's magnetometer, accelerometer and gyroscope to show live EMF, motion and rotation readings. Those readings are displayed, optionally written into a session log stored beside your own recording, and otherwise discarded. They are never transmitted. The app requests no location permission and does not know where you are.

What you capture

Photos, videos and session logs are written to the app's own storage on your device. They are yours. They leave your phone only when you hand one to the share sheet yourself, and they are removed when you delete them in the app or uninstall it.
